Job Description

The Head of Continuing Airworthiness & Nominated Person Continuing Airworthiness reports to the Accountable Manager for all regulatory aspects, and to the Chief Operations Officer for day to day operations.

Duties

Continuing Airworthiness Management Responsibilities

  1. a) Establishment and development of continuing airworthiness policy, including the Part M.A.302 Maintenance Programme(s) of Universal Air Charter and Management Ltd. required by Part M;
  2. b) Analysis of the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programme as required by Part M.A.708 (b) and appendix 1 to Universal Air Charter and Management Ltd M.A.302;
  3. c) The relationship with the Part 145 maintenance contractor(s) and establishment of the Maintenance Contract required by Part M.A.201 (h) (2);
  4. d) Ensuring that Universal Air Charter and Management Ltd’s technical records are kept as required by Part M.A.305;
  5. e) Forecasting aircraft maintenance inputs, raising orders on approved maintenance organisations, work pack and CCO reconciliation;
  6. f) Ensure all maintenance is carried out to the approved maintenance programme;
  7. g) Modifications and repairs are carried out to an approved standard;
  8. h) Airworthiness Directive review and embodiment;
  9. i) Non mandatory modification embodiment policy;
  10. j) Rectification of all defects;
  11. k) Line and base maintenance;
  12. l) Ensuring that all defects are rectified by an approved MRO.
  13. m) Ensures that the Mass and Balance statement reflects the current status of the aircraft.
  14. n) That the Certificate of Airworthiness for each aeroplane operated by the company remains valid in respect of:
  15. The airworthiness of the aeroplane,
  16. The expiry date specified on the ARC, and iii) Any other condition specified in the Certificate;

iii. Reporting any occurrences of a maintenance nature to the TM CAD and the aircraft manufacturers. This includes both Mandatory Occurrences and occurrences related to maintenance findings which fall outside the Mandatory scheme;

  1. The amendment and control of this Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition;
  2. o) Review monthly and implementation, as appropriate, of:
  3. All EU regulations and EASA decisions, relating to the continuing airworthiness of aircraft, and
  4. Those TM CAD national requirements currently not addressed by equivalent EASA requirements;
  5. p) Continuing airworthiness aspects and monitoring compliance with respect to:

iii. Other applicable requirements, e.g. CS-26 Subpart B and Commission Regulations (EU) 965/2012 Part CAT.IDE.A. and any additional TM CAD national requirements.

Maintenance Responsibilities

  1. a) Maintenance Programme Development and Amendment.
  2. b) Maintenance Programme Effectiveness and Reliability.
  3. c) Permitted Variations to Maintenance Programme.
  4. d) Scheduled Maintenance Compliance Monitoring.
  5. e) Access by TM CAD.
  6. f) Maintenance Data.
  7. g) Airworthiness Directives.
  8. h) Service Bulletins and Modifications.
  9. i) Service Life Limit and Component Control and Removal Forecast.
  10. j) Engine Health Monitoring.
  11. k) Defect Control.
  12. l) Mandatory Occurrence Reporting.
  13. m) Continuing Airworthiness Records.
  14. n) Check Flight Procedures.
  15. o) Communication between the Operator & Sub-Contracted Organisation.
  16. p) Notification of Change.
