Job Description
The Ground Ops Manager / Deputy VP Airports will manage and ensure a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely airport operations so that Universal Air’s image, reputation, and customer service levels are maintained and enhanced to the highest standards.
This position may require travelling on occasion so candidates must be able to travel freely especially within the EU.
The Role
- Ensures that all network ground handling services provide a smooth flow of passengers and baggage through check in desks and boarding gates with maximum comfort and and a fast process
- Plans, assigns, and reviews attendance, appearance, behaviour, and the work of all staff around the airport
- Management of staff schedules engaged in various activities
- Reviews conformance to established rules, regulations and procedures and make reports of those unable to comply with these
- Analyses and makes recommendations for improved operations
- Assist Universal Air Customer Support Department to resolve passenger claims and requests, and where appropriate, report forward relevant concerns to airport authorities and direct manager
- Performs inter departmental cooperation especially with OCC
- Makes recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, and promotions of staff, raises need for training and replacement
- Support the setup of new destinations worldwide and ensure Company standards are met in all operating locations
- Performs other related work as required by the Company
- Deputise for the VP Airports at all business areas.
Requirements:
- Education: College or University degree.
- Airport functions certificates desirable, including Dangerous Goods.
- Strong Customer Services Skills
- Team player with ‘can do’ and ‘hungry for learning’ attitude.
- Minimum 2-4 years of work experience with airline industry.
- Fluent English knowledge (both spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to efficiently communicate, build relationships and cooperation and drive projects forward.
- Attention to detail on deliverables, daily routines, and complex tasks supervision.
- Ability to work on multiple priorities and under time pressure with accuracy and efficiency.
- Good MS Office knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is a must.
